Filming the Fabulous Food Destinations of Sydney

With our exciting new televisual collaboration Eat, Play & Stay now airing on Aurora Foxtel’s 183, our video producer Scott Winter has been lucky enough to explore Sydney’s favorite restaurants in research for the show. The first Sydney dining destination to be decided was easy. King Street Wharf provided lots of culinary fun for Scott as he tried his hand at pizza base spinning, shucking oysters and taste testing waterside seafood. Just another day at the office for Best Restaurants! While the weather threatened to rain on his parade, his bubbling energy was not dampened as he visited a whopping 23 restaurants in 24 hours.

We’re now in the process of whittling down the best restaurants of the up-and-coming dining destinations of Double Bay and Potts Point. We predict the suburbs to soon see the same popularity that Surry Hills experienced last year, so you’ll want to tune in to find out which restaurants and menus will be the next on everyone’s lips.

Speaking of Potts Point, the de Groots team was lucky enough to attend the Parched into March event at The Beach Haus, hosted by Sun Herald party connoisseur Amy Cooper. Vocal chords always waxed and ready, Scott took to the stage. Using some creative lyrical improvisation, Summertime, best-known by Ella Fitzgerald, became Sparkling Wine – a rendition singing the joys of champagne.

And with our finger always on the pulse, we are eagerly awaiting the opening of some fabulous new restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Be sure to check the New Restaurants quick link on our homepage to know which restaurants are opening, before the menus are even written!
